CN Rail and Unifor have put the brakes on a potential labour disruption.
The union and the rail company managed to hammer out an 11th hour deal to avoid a lockout by CN scheduled for 11:00 p.m. local time Monday.
Details of the tentative agreement are being withheld pending ratification by Unifor members.
Vote results are expected in the next three weeks as the union holds votes.
The union represents 4,800 employees at CN, including clerical/intermodal, mechanical, CNTL truck owner-operators, and excavator-operators.
