Coastal Fire Centre lifts campfire ban

As of noon today, campfires will once again be allowed within the Coastal Fire Centre’s jurisdiction, which includes Haida Gwaii.

Along with campfires, the ban on the use of tiki torches, chimineas and stoves will also be rescinded.

The ban on category 2 and 3 fires remains in effect, which covers any fire larger than half a metre by half a metre, stubble or grass fires, sky lanterns, fireworks, burn barrels or cages, and exploding targets.
