Environment Canada has extended a wind warning to the North and Central Coast regions of BC.
Strong southeast wind with speeds of up to 100 kilometres per hour are expected this morning as an intense Pacific frontal system moves through the area and heads southward along the coast throughout the day. Forecasters have also continued a wind warning for Haida Gwaii.
The wind is expected to ease late Monday night as the front weakens and moves east.
Haida Gwaii and the Central Coast regions were buffeted by high wind last week as well.
Environment Canada issues wind warnings when there is a significant risk of damaging winds.
