Collision knocks out power for 2,500 in Prince George

Prince George RCMP say a vehicle collided with a power pole in the Lower College Heights neighbourhood of the city, knocking out power for 2,500 BC Hydro customers.

The collision occurred one minute after midnight, and BC Hydro’s Bob Gammer says power went out a minute after the collision.

The power pole was on the meridian at Domano Blvd. and St. Lawrence Ave.

Power was restored to most customers by 4am, with all customers getting their power back at by 7:30am.

The lone occupant of the vehicle did not sustain any injuries.

Police are continuing to investigate this incident.
