Representatives from communities across BC voted today to rid the province of open net salmon farms.
Instead, attendees of the UBCM convention voted in favour of resolution A2, which asks the province to begin the transition process from open net farms to land based salmon aquaculture.
BC is currently the only section on the North American west coast which still allows open net salmon fishing.
