BC Wildfire Service says controlled burns will take place near Hazelton and Kitwanga Wednesday.
Officials say one of the fires will cover two hectares at the 41-kilometre mark on the Kispiox Valley Road.
The other will cover four hectares in the Red Hills area, on the north side of François Lake.
The province says the fires will help the ecosystems and prevent bigger wildfires from sparking.
They warn smoke may be visible from a distance. The fires will only be done if the conditions are right at the time.
