Terrace RCMP are assisting the BC Coroners Service as it investigates the death of a 35 year-old man.
Mounties say the man suffered fatal injuries after he was hit by a train.
CN police notified RCMP that the incident happened at about 10 p.m. Wednesday near Aspley Street and Greig Avenue.
Police have described the man as a pedestrian but are not releasing any other details. RCMP have directed all media inquiries to the BC Coroners Service.
It’s not the first time someone has died in the Terrace rail yards. Last year, two people were struck and killed by trains in two separate incidents that happened within five days.
Although crossing through the CN yard is illegal, it is a popular shortcut for residents making their way from the South Side to downtown Terrace.
