RCMP have released more information about a fatal crash between Terrace and Prince Rupert Wednesday night.
Investigators say an eastbound empty logging truck hit a moose near the 100 km mark of Highway 16 at about 7:00 p.m. The truck then lost control and collided with a westbound SUV.
The passenger in the SUV, a female DFO employee from Prince Rupert, was killed in the collision. The driver of the SUV was transported to hospital with serious injuries. The driver of the logging truck was treated in hospital for minor injuries.
The Highway was shut down from approximately 7 p.m. Wednesday until 4 a.m. Thursday.
The investigation is continuing.
