The power went out in south Terrace and Old Remo after a pick up took out a power pole on highway 16 at Keith Avenue on Saturday.
The male driver of the blue Chevy truck was the only one in the vehicle when it snapped the pole at its base. He was treated at mills memorial for non-life threatening injuries and police have determined it was a medical condition that led to the crash.
It happened just before 4 in the afternoon and it shut down the highway for about three hours and traffic was rerouted because of concerns over dangling power lines.
Power was out for about two hours, but the brick and new floors didn’t get their power back until the evening.
