CRD downgrades evacuation order/alert for some areas

The wildfire threat in the Cariboo Regional District is easing for some areas.

The CRD has downgraded the evacuation order for 23 properties in the Narcosli area to an evacuation alert.

Officials are reminding residents that since the area remains on evacuation alert, they must be prepared in case the area receives a future evacuation order.

Information about what to do when re-entering an area can be found in the CRD’s re-entry information package.

The CRD notes that an evacuation alert or order may need to be reissued as wildfire activity continues in the area,

It’s asking residents to stay out of fire-affected areas and obey all warning and hazard signs.
