The Cariboo Regional District has expanded the evacuation zone for the Tatelkuz Lake wildfire.
901 properties between the District’s Northwest boundary and the area west of Nazko. now find themselves within the evacuation orders, including the Kluskus, Batnuni, and Titetown areas.
Properties in the following areas along the Kluskus Forest Service Road are set to be evacuated by helicopter: District Lot 1833, District Lot 91 Blocks A and B, and District Lot 92.
Evacuees are asked to make there way to, and register at, the Reception Centre at Exhibition Park in Prince George located at Ospika Boulevard and 18th Avenue.
There are two routes available to get to the centre:
- Evacuees may take the Alexander Mackenzie Heritage Trail to Batnuni Road, to Blackwater Road through Quesnel and North to Prince George via Highway 97.
- Some residents may need to take the Nazko Road to Blackwater Road through Quesnel, North to Prince George via Highway 97.
Residents of the evacuated areas are asked to leave the area immediately.
