It could be four days before residents cut off by a debris flow near Likely will be able to leave their homes.
The Cariboo Regional District says a approximately 3000 cubic metres of material came down in a slide near Keithley Creek late Thursday afternoon.
A geotechnical engineer was flown over the site Thursday and believes that a beaver dam or other structure collapsed, causing the debris flow.
One home may have been damaged in the incident near Cariboo Lake, but the residents were able to escape in a boat unharmed.
The CRD says it’s working on a plan to make sure people in the 14 affected properties are safe and have supplies.
