BC’s Wildfire Management Branch says crews are responding to a wildfire 30 km east of Burns Lake.
The four-hectare fire was human-caused and is located on the Hannay Forest Service Road.
No structures or property are at risk but smoke may be visible from Highway 16.
There are 12 wildfire personnel and10-15 people from industry fighting the flames with the help of heavy equipment and air tankers.
The Wildfire Management Branch credits public reports for a quick response to the fire.
