Tom Mulcair has announced a combination of parliamentary veterans and new voices for his NDP critic roles.
The NDP is billing itself as Canada’s “progressive opposition” after losing more than half of its seats October 19th and returning to third-party status.
Longtime Skeena-Bulkley Valley MP Nathan Cullen will take on the role of environment critic.
Cullen will also be tasked with the role of fixing what the party says is Canada’s unfair electoral system as critic for democratic reform.
Northern Ontario MP Charlie Angus will take on Indigenous and northern affairs while newly minted MP for Vancouver East Jenny Kwan will handle the immigration and refugees critic role.
The party now has 44 MPs in the Commons, down from the 95 it had before the last Parliament dissolved.
