The recent heavy rains in the Northwest has the ministry of forests warning drivers about traveling in the back country.
The ministry notes high water and flooding in the coast mountain district can result in road and bridge washouts, structural failures and bank erosion.
As a result officials warn drivers they should turn around if they encounter a flooded road. They suggest drivers find another route and that drivers should never attempt to motor through a flooded section of road because you never know what lies below the water.
If your vehicle stalls out, abandon it immediately and move to safer ground.
