Dawson Creek RCMP say a 37-year-old local man is facing charges in connection with a truck and generator theft.
Mounties say a Ford F-250 pickup was stolen from a mechanical shop last Thursday. Two days later, investigators believe the truck was used to steal a generator and gas from a compound in Dawson Creek.
Police caught a break when someone spotted the stolen vehicle Tuesday night.
Officers used a spike belt to stop the truck and chased the fleeing suspect to a nearby compound where he was arrested with the help of a police dog.
The police dog injured the man during his arrest and he was treated in hospital before being released.
He’s expected in court Wednesday.
