Dawson Creek Mayor Dale Bumstead has responded to the recent spike in violent crimes in his city.
Predictably, the Mayor is concerned over the string of shootings and home invasions that have stolen headlines the last couple of weeks.
Since the beginning of November, RCMP have responded to two shootings, one of which resulted in attempted murder charges, an assault, and a home invasion.
It is an unusual situation for the normally quiet community, but Bumstead says he has full faith in the local RCMP to curtail the spike.
Bumstead believes the source incidents could be related to someone with crime and gang affiliations coming in to the community.
All of the incidents are believed to be targeted with no further risk to the public.
