Diane Penner is with the community advocacy group Residents Advocating for a Sustainable Inclusive Environment.
The group has been vocal and persistent in its opposition to the proposed Forceman Ridge landfill, and conversion of two current landfills to transfer stations.
At the last board meeting, director James Cordeiro of the regional board, raised a motion to determine if the group’s action constituted harassment.
Diane Penner says the group hasn’t been disrespectful.
But James Cordeiro characterizes the group as being obstructionist.
He also says at some meetings, members of the group have been verbally abusive.
Cordeiro says the next step is to draft policy on how to deal with such situations in the future.
