The District of Kitimat has issued a Water Quality Advisory for all users of its community water system.
Northern Health is recommending children, pregnant women, the elderly, and those with weakened immune systems drink boiled water.
The district says elevated levels of turbidity in the Kitimat River are behind the advisory.
While there’s no evidence of increased risk to users, additional testing is being done to verify that the water is safe.
