Terrace RCMP received several complaints about dogs left in hot vehicles over the past weekend.
With a heat wave in effect, police are reminding pet owners not to leave their companions in the car.
The temperature in a parked vehicle – even in the shade with partly open windows – can reach a level high enough to seriously harm or even kill a pet.
Owners can also be fined $100 under the Terrace Animal Control Bylaw for leaving pets in a hot vehicle.
