It’s likely common sense, but Terrace RCMP are warning the public about the dangers of taking drugs from strangers after a couple of bizarre incidents last weekend.
The notice comes after police received two complaints of a man offering pills to people Sunday, March 6th.
Investigators say the man told people the pill would “really mess them up”. The suspect then went on to offer more of the drugs via Facebook.
Mounties say the pill in this case wasn’t necessarily dangerous, but Constable Angela Rabut says it’s just not worth the risk.
Members of the public should never accept or handle pills and other drugs handed to them by strangers or criminals. Some pills, specifically those produced by criminals, may contain very dangerous substances such as fentanyl that could have serious consequences if even handled without proper protective equipment, says Rabut.
