Prince George police are investigating what they say is a targeted shooting that sent one man to hospital.
The early morning shooting took place at around 12:20am in a parking lot near the intersection of 17th Avenue and Spruce Street in Prince George.
Arriving officers found one man with a gunshot wound, who was then transported to hospital.
The Prince George RCMP’s Major Crime Section has been called in and are now leading the investigation.
While the RCMP are asking the public to avoid the area around 17th Avenue and Spruce street, they don’t believe there is a risk to the public.
Police say the investigation is still in its early stages, and more details may be released as they become available.
Prince George RCMP say four people have been arrested in relation to today’s early morning shooting.
Police say their investigation led them to a residence in the Blackburn community on the east side of Prince George.
A search warrant was executed at a home in the 1300 block of Blackburn Road, where one man and two women were arrested.
Around 3pm in the afternoon, another man was arrested at a home in the College Heights area of Prince George.
The investigation into the targeted shooting is continuing.
