Over 140 Emergency Support Services workers and Emergency Management staff are expected to gather in Terrace next week for a conference.
The 6th Annual Northern Emergency Support Service Training Conference (NESST) will see participants train, network, and put their skills to the test in an exercise.
In the wake of last year’s unprecedented flooding and wildfires across the province, the conference will focus on the importance of communication in five different workshops.
ESS Responders were on the front lines providing support and assistance for necessities like food, clothing, and shelter for thousands of affected people.
The NESST Conference is a partnership between local and regional governments, including the Regional District of Kitimat-Stikine, City of Terrace, Regional District of Bulkley Nechako, and the Town of Smithers.
The conference takes place April 13-15.
