Environmental Assessment begins for northwest BC mine

The Canadian Environmental Assessment Agency has started reviewing a proposed underground gold and silver mine in northwest BC.

IDM Mining Ltd. is behind the development of the Red Mountain Gold Mine located approximately 18 kilometres northeast of Stewart.fig13

The company says the proposed mine would produce 1000 tonnes of mineral ore a day and 275,000 tonnes per year over the estimated five to seven year life of the mine.

The Canadian Environmental Assessment Agency is asking for public comment on which aspects of the environment may be affected by the project and what the should be examined during the environmental assessment.

Written comments are due by December 12th, 2015.
