An evacuation alert has been issued for the area round the Dog Creek Trail forest fire.
The Regional District of Bulkley-Nechako issued the alert for the area 25 kms northwest of Vanderhoof, between the Dog Creek Forest Service Road and Geernaert Road, south of the Barlow Forest Service road to the Nechako River, and from Westwood Road to Braeside Road.
Residents of this area should prepare for evacuation by prepping essentials, locating family members, and arranging transportation.
A reception centre will be opened should an evacuation be ordered.
