The Regional District of Bulkley-Nechako has expanded the evacuation order for the Verdun Mountain Fire burning 16 km southwest of Grassy Plains.
The expanded evacuation order area is from the Tatalaska Forest Service Road south to Eakin Settlement Road and Keefes Landing Road to the East end of Takysie Lake.
The expanded evacuation order includes properties on the North shore of Takysie Lake.
The BC Wildfire Service says the 800 hectare Verdun fire showed extremely aggressive behaviour Wednesday and took a run to the north.
Officials say Sprinkler Protection Specialists continue to monitor structures in the area.
