Bike to Work Week is a BC wide event which aims to promote bicycling as a form of transportation. Last year in Prince Rupert, there were 54 participants who cycled 506 kilometres. There will be an opening event on May 23, 2014 with festivities and a registration table for cyclists plus helmet safety information (we cooperate with the Brain Injury Association). The closing celebration will be on May 30th with a BBQ and prize draws. People can sign up for BTWW as an individual or as a team.
Bicyclists resister at biketowork.ca/registration and bicycle to work at least once during Bike to Work Week May 25th-31st
Bike to work week is looking for individuals, community members, businesses and companies who want to donate money for EACH KILOMETER that is bicycled during Bike To Work Week. You can donate as little as 1 cent (last year Prince Rupert bicycled 506km! If donated 1cent per km this would have resulted in $5.06. Not bad!).
This year, the Prince Rupert chapter of BTWW hopes to raise money for the Kaien Anti Poverty Society (KAPS) Bicycle Fund to help fund bicycle related projects in the communities of Prince Rupert and Port Edward. All donations will go to the KAPS Bicycle Fund.
