Call Out to Hazelton's Partipants for Student Success Video

They would like to Invite People from the Hazelton’s and surrounding area who have successfully completed a post-secondary program, to be a part of a video we are producing to showcase role models in our area. The Video will be played throughout the day on the stage for people to view at the 5th annual “get Connected” career Fair on February 9, 2017, at the Gitannmax Hall. The goal is to encourage people who are considering going back to school and to show them what other people have done to successfully complete their education.

If you would like to be a part of this video, Please make a video of yourself with your cell phone or camera in a quiet space by yourself and follow format below

Student successes video format:

Please start with:

Hello, my name is…

I belong to the…..Nation

I live in….

I decided to go back to school in……(year) Because….

I went to the….college or university and was in the…..Program

I attained me…Certificate or diploma or degree in……..(year)

Talk about:

What was it like going back to school……

|The challenges you had and how you overcame them

How your education has benefited you…emphasize not just the career outcome but also the socio aspects, eg. how it has helped improve your self-esteem, how you were able to reach your financial goals such as owning your own home or personal property or provide for your family, Etc.

End with encouraging words to future

It is a good idea to make notes on each area before videoing to help with the flow of the video as you record.
