Kitimat has opened its extreme weather shelter.
The shelter is at the Kitimat First Baptist Church, and will be open from 8pm to 8am until March 31 of next year.
A maxiumum of 15 beds will be available for those needing temporary shelter during the cold weather season.
But whether all beds are open or not will depend on if there are enough volunteers to help run the shelter, says Shelter Coordinator, Leona Wells.
She says the shifts are flexible, but they want to ensure there are at least two volunteers there during shelter hours.
People can call 250-279-0847 if they’re interested in helping out.
