A memorandum of understanding signed between the Wet’suwet’en Nation and the Province will see the two work together towards improving the health, knowledge, and culture of the Nation’s children and families.
Signed last week, the agreement will see the development of a framework for exercising the Nation’s jurisdiction over child and family services.
Federal Minister of Crown-Indigenous Relations Carolyn Bennett spoke with CFNR’s Ryan Franke regarding the agreement.
Bennett believes the agreement puts the power back in the hands of the people who need it most.
