Ferry terminal project could mean some night noise for Prince Rupert neighbours

BC Ferries says work to replace its trestle at the Prince Rupert terminal will get underway later this month.

The project will be split into five phases, with the first to start at 1o pm Sunday October 15 through to Friday October 20 at 6 am.

BC Ferries says construction will take place at night, which could mean some noise for nearby residents of the terminal.  The corporation says it will do what it can to keep the noise levels down and the periods of noise to a minimum.

The last phase of the trestle replacement is set for December 10 to December 15.

Ferries says the sailing schedules on the Port Hardy – Bella Bella  – Prince Rupert Prince Rupert – Haida Gwaii routes will also be changed starting October 16 through to December 14.

Check with BC Ferries for sailing alterations.
