The first quarter report from the Terrace Fire Department shows an upward trend in the number of emergency calls being made.
According to fire chief John Klie, this is a trend that has been persistant throughout the last few years.
Overall, the city saw an increase in first responder calls of about 200 when compared to the same time period last year, a number that is consistent with the recent trend.
The Chief was quick to clarify that this is not a Terrace issue, as this trend is being seen throughout North America.
Chief Klie also revealed that while the population and number of calls have increased, the number of full time ambulance staff has remained consistent.
