Terrace RCMP say they have had a recent increase in guns being turned in as part of October gun amnesty month.
Under the province-wide amnesty, people can turn over firearms that they are not legally entitled to own or no longer want to keep.
Terrace RCMP Constable Angela Rabut says the first few weeks were pretty slow but saw a major increase in firearms handed in, in the last few days.
Residents have five days left to contact the RCMP to get rid of their unwanted guns.
They ask you not to drop it off at the detachment, instead contact police to have it picked up.
