Passengers flying on flight 713 to Vancouver had a scare when their plane got struck by lightning.
On Monday night a Pacific Coastal Airline flight was hit with a bolt of lightning 20 minutes outside of the Vancouver International Airport.
30 individuals were on the plane coming from the Comox Valley Airport.
Kevin Boothroyd is a spokesperson for Pacific Coastal and he says the pilots are trained well and knew the procedures on how to safely land the plane.
There were no injuries reported to passengers. YVR was the plane’s final destination.
Boothroyd said lightning strikes to aircraft, while not common, do happen from time to time.
