The BC Forests Ministry has put an area restriction in place for Crown land near the Chutanli Lake wildfire.
The ministry says the order is to protect public safety, ensure the safety of firefighting personnel, and accommodate firefighting activities.
The restriction, under the Wildfire Act, limits access to an area unless a person is entering during the course of:
(a) travelling to or from his or her residence that is not under an evacuation order;
(b) using a highway as defined in the Transportation Act;
(c) travelling through or entering the area as a person acting in an official capacity; or
(d) travelling through or entering the area for an approved purpose of supporting wildfire suppression activities.
