A former northern BC woman banned from owning animals is facing charges in Alberta after police seized eight dogs from a hotel Tuesday.
Innisfail RCMP say 46-year-old Karin Adams is charged with a number of offences including eight counts of failing to obtain a dog licence and personating a peace officer.
Police were called in after reports of a woman posing as a law enforcement official asking a dog owner about their pet and then allegedly trying to take the animal.
Adams and her daughter Catherine pleaded guilty in a 2015 animal cruelty case after dozens of animals were seized from their Houston property.
Both women received 20-year bans on owning animals.
Karin Adams is expected to appear in a Red Deer court July 31st.
