Former President of the Council of the Haida Nation and Chief Commissioner of the BC Treaty Commission, Miles Richardson is looking to become National Chief of the Assembly of First Nations.
Richardson announced his campaign this morning.
His platform will focus on transforming the relationship between First Nations and Canada by improving recognition of Indigenous nationhood, closing socio-economic gaps between Indigenous and non-Indigenous peoples, and building sustainable economies.
The election of the next AFN Chief is set to take place on July 25th.
