A Terrace man is not letting the closing of his business slow him down.
Boota Uppal had run the Sears Homestore in downtown Terrace for 17 years before its closing, along with the rest of the chain, last year.
But Uppal, who has been part of the Terrace community for 27 years, has decided to retaliate by opening a new store in the same location.
Terrace Appliances and Mattresses opened two weeks ago under Uppal after he recieved an outcry of community support ushering him to start the business and fill the void left by the department store.
Uppal hopes his endeavour will encourage other former Sears owners to follow in his footsteps and fill the needs of their communities.
