Fort Saint James RCMP are investigating a major theft from the district’s public works yard.
Investigators say a lone suspect entered the compound, broke into the shop using a crow bar, and stole a truck and thousands of dollars worth of equipment.
Stolen was a 2003 GMC flat deck pickup with District of Fort Saint James emblems on the side, two or three large water pumps, two hand gas pumps, and large generator, and various Makita brand power tools.
Photos or the suspect captured by surveillance cameras were grainy, but police say the suspect was wearing a light or white jacket, light or white baseball hat, dark coloured hoodie, and light coloured jeans or pants.
RCMP are still investigating nearby thefts from the Stuart Lake Golf Club earlier this month, but it’s not known whether the two incidents are connected.
Anyone with information about either case should contact the Fort Saint James RCMP or Crime Stoppers.
