A Fort St. James man suspected of a string of break and enters in four communities is expected in court Friday.
RCMP says the 30 year-old was arrested Tuesday after he sped away from police through a residential neighbourhood in Fort St. James following an attempted traffic stop.
Mounties allege the man used bear spray against officers and a police dog before he was eventually taken into custody at his home.
A search of the suspect’s home turned up property that police believe is related to several recent break- and-enters in Fort St. James, Vanderhoof, Prince George, and Fraser Lake.
RCMP says the man is facing a number charges, including assaulting a police officer, dangerous operation of a vehicle, and driving while prohibited.
Police say they continue to investigate the break-ins and more charges may forthcoming.
