Freezing rain creates slippery conditions in the Peace

Freezing rain has prompted the BC Ministry of Transportation to issue a travel advisory between Tumbler Ridge and Chetwynd.

Slippery conditions have been reported between Highway 52 E, Highway 52 N and Weiland Road for 93.4 kilometres.

Environment Canada has issued a freezing rain warning for the B.C. North and South Peace River regions as warm air overrides sub-zero surface air.

Forecasters expect the threat of freezing rain to ease late Saturday evening as temperatures climb above freezing and the precipitation heads into Alberta.
