The province has announced funding to bring more affordable housing to Quesnel.
Provincial officials say they will be relocating the Seasons House Shelter.
The final product will see a 30-unit affordable rental housing project for those at risk of homelessness.
It will also include two units on the ground floor to be used as shelter beds.
Construction on the $6-million housing project is expected to begin this fall.
On top of the funding, the Amata Transition House is getting $126,000 for upgrades.
This will allow them to improve their kitchen and bathrooms so they serve more women and children fleeing from violent homes.
