On Wednesday September 9th The Walkers for All Missing and Murdered Women 2015 will be arriving at their final destination: Prince Rupert.
Organizer Brenda Osborne of Norway House Manitoba and a group of seven others have trekked from Winnipeg Manitoba to Prince Rupert to raise awareness of the countries Missing and Murdered people and honoring those who have been lost. They are calling for positive changes for all levels of government.
Prince Rupert will welcome them.
Organizers are inviting everyone to come greet the walkers at the 5km point at Butze Trail entrance at approximately at 2:30pm. They will then walk with them and proceed into the City of Prince Rupert and make their way to the Friendship House on 744 Fraser St. for soup, sandwiches and refreshments.
On Thursday September 10th The Nisga’a Hall and The Friendship House is hosting a Potluck Reception at around 5pm to honour the walkers and all the missing and murdered who have been lost.
