It’s flu season once again, and that means time for the flu shot.
Dr. Robert Parker with the First Nations Health Authority encourages everyone to get the shot.
He says this year’s flu vaccine provides about 60% to 70% effectiveness in preventing people from catching the flu.
But he adds, for the 30% who get the vaccine and still get the flu, the symptoms are much milder than if they didn’t get the shot.
He says people with chronic health conditions, the elderly, and infants and children over 6-months old should definitely get immunized.
