Smithereens are no doubt flushed with pride over the delivery of their new public washroom.
Described as the “perfect public toilet”, the Portland Loo was dropped off downtown along Second Avenue near Main Street this week.
The stainless steel washroom is built to be durable, low maintenance, and has angled slats to ensure privacy on the inside while not concealing any mischief from the outside.
It’s hoped the addition of the toilet will be a relief to revelers at nearby Bovill Square who have traditionally had to settle for a port-a-potty during summer gatherings.
The nearly $200,000 toilet should be open for business by this summer and open year-round.
