Early in the morning last Saturday, Terrace Mounties were called to a disturbance at Lakelse Lake Provincial Park.
At the Furlong Campground, officers attempted to stop a vehicle.
The driver refused to stop, but officers didn’t pursue the vehicle for safety reasons.
The police searched the area and found a man swimming in the lake after driving his vehicle into the water.
Police believe it was the same driver that refused to stop.
An investigation of impaired driving coupled with several other motor vehicle related offenses has been initiated.
The accused has been remanded in custody and will make an appearance in Terrace Provincial Law Courts today.
