What started out as a grass fire ended up sparking a blaze that required RCMP to block off a road in Terrace yesterday.
Firefighters received reports of the fire at around 2:00 yesterday afternoon.
By the time crews arrived on site, heavy wind had already caused the fire to spread to a nearby hedge and eventually to the side of the adjacent Twin River Estates apartment complex.
Fire crews eventually called on the assistance of RCMP to block off the Old Skeena Bridge to limit traffic as they fought the blaze.
Crews managed to quell the fire within a couple of hours.
No one was hurt during the fire as residents evacuated the effected units prior to fire crews arrival, the cause of the fire is still unknown.
