Northwest residents are once again preparing to pick up garbage Saturday as part of the annual Great Canadian Shoreline Cleanup.
Prince Rupert Coordinator Caitlin Birdsall says everyone has a responsibility to keep marine and freshwater systems clean.
Birdsall says the cleanup, isn’t just about picking up trash.
Smoking-related garbage and single-use food and beverage items were the number one and number two most prevalent forms of debris found in last year’s cleanup efforts.
Volunteers are asked to dress for the weather and meet at Rushbrook boat launch by 10 o’clock Saturday morning.
