Greyhound crash sends passengers to hospital

A Greyhound bus crashed between Prince George and Quesnel Thursday, leaving some passengers with injuries.

Emergency crews were called out to an area near Hixon shortly before 8 a.m. after the bus, with 8 passengers and a driver left the road and ended up on its side in the ditch.

BC Emergency Health Services says three people on the bus were taken to hospital with serious injuries and the remaining six have minor injuries.

The Greyhound was heading from Kamloops to Prince George at the time of the crash.

The cause of the crash is not known, however road conditions in the region are described as poor.

Highway 97 is open to single-lane alternating traffic.
