A conservancy on Haida Gwaii will see its borders increased thanks to a recent vote.
The Duu Guusd Heritage site will see 12 hundred hectares added to its borders following a unanimous recomendation from the Haida Gwaii Management Council.
The Conservancy now spans 228,932 hectares on the Northwest coast of Haida Gwaii.
The inclusion of the new land is intended to further protect archeological sites and areas of high cultural value to the Nation.
